Summer '04 in Pictures

In June, we had a visit from Laura and Richard. Here they are exploring a continuing Disney theme - stupid hats.
August started with a bang...

The car in the first picture hit the car in the second picture, which in turn hit poor defenseless Blueberry (below).

It may not look like much (or anything...), but it took 2 weeks and $600 from car a's insurance company to fix!
Hurricane!

Friday the 13th of August brought Hurricane Charley...the first major storm to go through Central Florida since Donna...which was before we were born and therefore didn't really happen. We both selflessly offered our services at Disney during the crisis, and took home mammoth paychecks as a result.
Scott's Birthday Weekend-o-Fun

This is the new baby elephant at Animal Kingdom. Her name is Kianga and she was born on July 6.

And here is Scott, posing outside the Living Seas, where they have a cute little Finding Nemo scene set up in a planter. We did lots of other things during our mini-vacation. We ate in Morocco...and at the Hoop Dee Doo...and don't forget the banana-stuffed french toast! It's no wonder we chose the puffer fish for this photo-op!
Building on a Theme...

They are just so precious at this age, aren't they? Here's my mom and little Jenn (fresh from American Idol auditions) playing dress-up at Downtown Disney.

Buzz Lightyear is still smiling. Trust me -- I was back the other day! And here are Jenn and Sabrina letting their inner princesses show through.
Saying Goodbye is Never Fun

Here are Beth, Kirby, Jenn, Ada and me on Jenn's last night at the Call Center. She got married in June, and is now moving to Utah to be closer to her husband's family. Good luck up in Utah, girl!
Our Three Favorite Kids
You could also title these pictures "a visit to the nudist preschool." These are Mike and Reyna's kids, the ones I babysit for 5 days a week. The little curly-haired one is Autumn, and that's Hunter sitting with Scott, and Conner makes three. I adore them all...and am almost always glad to leave when Mike gets home from work!
Looking Ahead...

As we move into the next three months, we await the approach of Hurricane Frances. We look forward to the election of a new president (ok, one of us looks forward to that. the other one is a republican!). We look forward to our first anniversary, with all the freezer-burned cake that comes with it. And we look forward to filling our photo albums with even more "stupid hat" pictures, visits from family, and memories of just the two of us...
...but hopefully no more pictures like this one, taken after a 12-hour day at work, when I have gone to work with two different shoes on. (at least they were the same color!)
