It was a dark and stormy night... Actually, the whole day had been rainy. Scott had told Jamie they were going out to dinner, and that she should dress nice, but wouldn't tell her anything else about where they were going. They ended up at the steak house in the Japan pavilion at Epcot. After a delicious meal eaten entirely with chopsticks (and only one tiny stain on Jamie's sleeve!) they left and walked through the museum, and around the pond of giant goldfish...I mean koi. The back of the pond is situated behind the pagoda, and doesn't see a lot of foot traffic. There was no one else around. Scott pulled a black bag out of his pocket and handed it to Jamie. ("hmm...a rock in a black bag...what the heck is this???")
She opened it up and it contained a silver fortune cookie. "You know how you never get any good fortunes," said Scott, "read this one."
She opened the fortune cookie and on the fortune was printed, "Will you marry me?" Scott was down on one knee, holding the ring.
Jamie looked at Scott and said, "Will you marry me? Of course I'll marry you!"
He got up and put the ring (which was exactly what she had been hoping for) on her finger. She threw her arms around his neck and they kissed. It was a perfect moment...standing there in the pouring rain in the Japan pavilion at Epcot.

this is a really badly-scanned picture of the ring that started it all…my great grandmother’s yellow diamond custom-set with sapphires and yellow gold
